FAQs

Why do you freeze dry candy?

Freeze drying candy intensifies the flavors and makes it crunchy and melts in your mouth. It doesn’t stick to your teeth or dental work. That means kids with braces, or anyone with dental work, can eat their favorite candies again!

Is all freeze dried candy the same?

ABSOLUTELY NOT! It’s great that some stores are stocking freeze dried candy now. Consumer awareness helps us all. Unfortunately, a lot of people get into the business to make a quick buck and don’t understand the time, effort, trial and error that goes into making great freeze dried candy. If you’ve had sticky or chewy or hard freeze dried candy, please give it another chance at one of our events! My Freeze Dried Tajin Skittles and Super Sour Marshmallows will blow you away!

How do you freeze dry candy?

Most people use their freeze dryers for long term, shelf stable food storage. I use mine to blow up candy! The drum of the freeze dryer freezes to below zero. The tray rack heats up the candy on trays and the powerful vacuum sucks all of the water out. Regular food comes out looking like camping food. It’s the same size, shape and color, but super light weight. But with candy, between the heat and the vacuum, sugar blows up!
